What skills and experience we're looking for

We are pleased to be able to offer the opportunity for aBehaviour and Pastoral Support Assistantto join our team atFurezham Primary.Working as part of the Pastoral Team, you will promote positive values, attitudes and good student behaviour whilstmaintaining a strong presence around the site.

The focus will be to reduce levels of absence from lessons and poor behaviour amongst key groups (including disadvantaged, SEND and vulnerable students) and to work with identified students and their families to increase levels of engagement, ensuring that the school’s core values are embodied by students consistently.

To be responsible for the efficient and effective behaviour support provision, ensuring every child is supported to achieve their full potential. To assist with administrative support/typing for behaviour as required. Supervise students throughout the day, preparing and collating student information.

  • Previous experience of working with young people in a school or similar setting
  • To enforce standards around attendance to lessons, behaviour and culture so that each student can be their best self
  • Knowledge, experience and understanding of safeguarding procedures and child protection issues
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills to be able to relate to a wide range of people including pupils, staff, parents and external professionals
  • An understanding of the developmental, emotional, social and educational issues of children and young people

This is a fixed term role until 31 August 2025 working 20 hours per week (Monday to Friday 11am - 3pm), 39 weeks per year.
