We are looking for a dynamic, committed and innovative individual to join our team as a Behaviour Support Assistant.

This is a new post within our school and your primary role will be to support pupils to better manage their own behaviour. This will involve working with pupils on an individual and group basis both in and out of the classroom. You will be the first point of call to assist in supporting pupils who may be experiencing difficulties in their lessons, ensuring that the behaviour of individuals does not disrupt the learning of others.

You will work across the school from Reception to Year 6, so an understanding of the different stages of learning will be beneficial. Additionally, you will work across lunchtime to provide an internal space for pupils who may find outdoor play challenging.

As a school with a very high proportion of disadvantaged pupils, a willingness to ‘go the extra mile’ to support pupils is essential.

If you are ready for a challenge, have a positive outlook and want to develop your understanding and skills in a supportive Trust, then we would love to hear from you.

The successful candidates will:

- Have a good understanding of how to support pupils with behavioural difficulties

- Have experience of supporting pupils with behavioural challenges either in class or across the school

- Have an understanding of Restorative Practice and Zones of Regulation

- Have excellent interpersonal skills

- Be understanding and have empathy with children

- Have a passion to work with vulnerable children and be flexible to meet their needs

We can offer:

- Delightful children who love being in school

- Hard-working, motivated and knowledgeable staff, who work together in the best interests of children

- Opportunities to work with colleagues across our schools

- Investment in your development, through targeted CPD

If you would like to discuss the post further, or to arrange a visit to our school (which are encouraged) please contact Mrs S Smith, Office Manager on 01482 825207.
