Behaviour Support Assistant job summary
The post will temporarily provide support across the North and West Partnership provisions according to the needs of the Trust, initially based at the New Horizons provision at Chantry Primary Academy.
New Horizons is a successful special provision which provides education for up to 8 children aged between 5 and 11 years who have social, emotional and mental health problems which have resulted in referral for short and medium term placements within the specialist provision.
New Horizons is set within a large primary school enabling pupils to access mainstream classrooms when ready to do so, in preparation to return to their base schools.
New Horizons offers curriculum with high expectations of what our pupils can achieve. Due to the nature of pupil's needs, New Horizon's teaching approach offers children opportunities to make choices and to direct their own learning within a broad, balanced and relevant curriculum differentiated to meet individual needs. Working therapeutically with pupils, we aim to identify the triggers which can prevent children from accessing learning and support to develop strategies to overcome these.
We need an inspiring, innovative and impassioned Behaviour Support Assistant to join our North and West Partnership provisions.
