What skills and experience we're looking for

Essential

Initial Qualification

  • Teaching Degree or Degree and PGCE
  • Qualified Teacher Status

Further Qualifications/ Professional Development

  • Recent relevant in-service training in current educational practice for KS1/2
  • English and Maths to GCSE (or equivalent) with A-C grades

Experience

  • Successful teaching practice in the relevant Key Stage (if an ECT)
  • Experience of teaching within the keys stage for which applying

Skills and Abilities

  • Understanding of the National Curriculum and a commitment to the highest standards of teaching and learning
  • Consistently good and better reflective classroom practitioner
  • The ability to plan, monitor, evaluate and review pupils’ progress
  • Excellent classroom management
  • The ability to use technology effectively in the classroom
  • The ability to share good practice with other staff and to learn from other staff
  • The ability to work positively, collaboratively and effectively in a team with staff, governors and parents
  • A high level of written and oral communication skills

Other

  • Awareness and understanding of Child Protection issues and Safeguarding practices
  • A commitment to involve parents, governors and the community in the work of the school
  • Promotion of positive behaviour strategies and constructive handling of problems
