Breakfast and Afterschool Club Assistant job summary

Job Title: Support Assistant – Breakfast and Afterschool Club
Hours: 8.00–9:00am and 3:30–5:30pm, term time only
Reports to: Office Manager

Job Purpose:
To assist in the day-to-day running of the breakfast and afterschool club, ensuring a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment for all children.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and engage children in a range of age-appropriate activities before and after school.

  • Assist with the preparation and serving of snacks and breakfasts.

  • Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all children at all times, following safeguarding and health and safety procedures.

  • Help with setting up and tidying away resources and equipment.

  • Build positive relationships with children, staff, and parents/carers.

  • Support children in developing social skills through play and structured activities.

Person Specification:

  • Experience working with children (preferred but not essential)

  • Friendly, reliable, and enthusiastic

  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

  • Willingness to work as part of a team
