Breakfast Club and Midday Supervisor job summary

We are seeking a caring, reliable and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Breakfast Club and Midday Supervisor. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with children and is committed to creating a safe, happy and welcoming school environment.

Key Responsibilities

Breakfast Club

  • Prepare and serve simple, nutritious breakfasts in line with food hygiene standards
  • Ensure the Breakfast Club runs smoothly and safely
  • Supervise children before the start of the school day
  • Encourage positive behaviour and social interaction

Lunchtime Supervision

  • Supervise pupils during lunchtime, both in the dining hall and playground
  • Promote a happy, calm and inclusive lunchtime atmosphere
  • Encourage good manners, positive play and healthy eating
  • Support children’s wellbeing and ensure their safety at all times

We are looking for someone who:

  • Puts children first- at the heart of everything you do;
  • Takes part in the planning of and oversee a varied programme of activities.
  • Supervises, leads and assists children in games and activities whilst encouraging good behaviour in accordance with the core values of the school.
  • Takes responsibility, along with other staff, for the health and safety, accident prevention and smooth running of emergency procedures for both children and other members of staff.
  • Understands and follows the school’s Child Protection policy.
  • Assists with the setting out and clearing up of any equipment.
  • Maintains confidentiality at all times.
  • Takes part in staff training as offered.
  • Carries out any reasonable requests from designated Line Manager or SLT.
  • Works within a team with other staff.
  • Supervises, leads and assists children in the lunch hall.

The hours would be as follows:

7.45 - 8.45am - Breakfast Club Monday to Friday

11.50 - 1.05pm - Lunchtime - Tuesday and Thursday
