Care Club Session Supervisor job summary

Afternoon Session Supervisor, 16.25 hours per week term time only, Monday to Friday 3 pm to 6.15 pm to work in our very popular Care Club - a wraparound childcare facility for children attending Menston Primary School.

There may be opportunities to work some morning sessions 7.15 am or 7.45 am to 9 am alongside this post should this be of interest to candidates.


Governors seek to appoint an enthusiastic and caring Session Supervisor to join the strong staff team working in our wrap around childcare facility. The successful candidate will closely with our experienced Manager to contribute to the leadership of our popular and successful childcare facility.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have experience of working with primary school age children, ideally with some experience of providing high-quality before and after school childcare
  • Be willing to support the wider work of Care Club
  • Be a well organised, friendly and flexible team player, with good interpersonal skills
  • Be committed to forging excellent relationships with children, staff, parents and other professionals
  • Support our school in our strong commitment to safeguarding children
  • Hold a paediatric first aid qualification, or be willing to undertake the training

Priorities for the successful candidate will be:

  • To support the Care Club Manager in the organisation and delivery of high-quality wrap around childcare
  • To organise and lead consistently effective and appropriate supervision and support for children
  • To plan, coordinate, promote and provide a wide range of inclusive, creative and enjoyable play opportunities for children
  • To deal with any issues, immediate problems or emergencies that arise in line with school policies and procedures, liaising with colleagues and the Care Club Manager where necessary, e.g. dealing with a sick, injured or distressed child
