Person Specification

Qualifications and Experience:

Evidence of significant leadership experience in a pastoral or welfare-focused role within a secondary school setting.
A degree or equivalent qualification (essential).
National Professional Qualification for Senior Leadership (NPQSL) or willingness to undertake (desirable).
Extensive experience in safeguarding and child protection, with a thorough understanding of statutory requirements.
Proven track record of improving outcomes for students through effective pastoral and welfare leadership.

Knowledge and Skills:

Strong knowledge of current educational policies and frameworks related to safeguarding, mental health, and pupil welfare.
Excellent understanding of behavior management strategies and restorative practices.
Ability to analyse data and implement effective interventions to address identified trends or issues.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with students, staff, parents, and external stakeholders.
Knowledge of effective approaches to mental health support and promoting resilience in young people.
