What skills and experience we're looking for
Knowledge and skills required include:
- Level 4 Diploma in Careers Information and Advice
- Experience of providing one-to-one careers guidance meetings with students
- Experience of working with supporting students of secondary school age
- Knowledge/ambition to develop within Careers and Work-Related Learning
- Ability to work both as part of a team and independently
- Computer literate
- The ability to exercise initiative and anticipate solutions
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to liaise with a wide range of people
- Enthusiastic with a pleasant disposition
- Be a positive role model to students

Northgate High School has recently been identified as 'the happiest school in Suffolk'. We are a large, comprehensive 11-18 school situated on the edge of Ipswich. Northgate has an impressive site, with purpose-built centres maintained and equipped to the highest standards, including recent investment in technology.

Following Ofsted's December 2024 inspection, we are a school with students who exhibit outstanding behaviour and attitudes. The relationships between staff and students are very strong, with students demonstrating positive behaviour for learning in lessons.
