We are seeking an inspiring and strategic Careers Leader to join our forward-thinking secondary school. This is a unique opportunity to lead a high-impact area of school life while maintaining a sustainable and family-friendly work pattern. At the heart of this role is our vision — Inspire, Empower, Thrive. You will inspire curiosity and ambition through meaningful careers education, empower students with the knowledge and confidence to make informed choices, and play a pivotal role in helping them thrive not only in school, but in the pathways they pursue beyond it.

As Careers Leader, you will shape and deliver a whole-school careers strategy that opens doors for every student. You will lead the development of a high-quality programme aligned to the Gatsby Benchmarks, working closely with colleagues across departments to embed meaningful careers learning into the curriculum. You will build strong partnerships with employers, colleges, and universities, ensuring students benefit from real-world experiences and informed guidance about their next steps. Using data and insight, you will track destinations and continuously refine the programme so that it has lasting impact.

It will suit someone who enjoys bringing people together, building relationships, and organising events. In return, you will gain the rare opportunity to lead a vital area of school life in a way that is both impactful and sustainable. You will be supported to grow professionally, including access to funded Careers Leader training, while working within a leadership team that genuinely values wellbeing. Most importantly, you will be able to make a lasting difference to young people’s futures while maintaining the balance needed to thrive in your own life.

At The Sele School, we are committed to providing a supportive and inclusive environment where both students and staff can thrive. You will be part of a dedicated team working collaboratively to make a real difference to young people’s lives.

What can we offer you?

The chance to work in a positive, welcoming and forward-thinking community where evidence-based methods are seamlessly integrated into teaching and learning.

A dedicated staff who are enthusiastic and who want the best for students.

A CPD package which is tailored to suit your stage of career development.
