Due to retirement, we are looking for an enthusiastic, pro-active and solution focussed Caretaker to provide high quality support to the school. The post requires someone with strong organisational, practical and time-management skills. A flexible approach and ‘can-do’ attitude is essential. We have an onsite hydrotherapy pool. Daily testing and maintenance will be an essential part of the role, for which full training will be provided.

Greenhall is a Special School for children aged 2-5 years. We also have a Governor Run Nursery on site which is open 51 weeks per year. A child-centred approach is at the heart of all that we do.

We are offering the opportunity to work in a welcoming school with a committed, enthusiastic and highly dedicated staff team and a very supportive Governing Body.

We are looking for someone who

- Is willing to go the extra mile for our children and families

- Has excellent practical DIY skills whilst knowing when to call in a professional

- Is a friendly face and has a warm, infectious smile - this smile is there to greet our children, families and fellow staff to show them how loved, special and valued they are!

- Has the ability to use their initiative and prioritise their work

- Has a full working knowledge of relevant policies/codes of practice/legislation, particularly with regards to health and safety

- Is creative and handy, someone who will make a mud kitchen, fix a leaking tap and drive our minibus to take our children horse-riding or on educational visits

- Cares about details - you notice when the door is sticking or a bulb needs replacing

Working with our very precious children is a privilege. It is the best job in the world! You will be talked about, remembered and loved for many years to come by our children and families.

If you think you have the skills and character that we are looking for, please get in touch!

Training, support and coaching will be offered to the successful candidate to ensure they are successful in their duties. You will also be joining a thriving Trust that has children at its heart. There will be professional development opportunities within the Trust and within Greenhall & Little Learners.

Greenhall is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All appointments are subject to clearance from the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly CRB), references and medical clearance.
