Caretaker job summary
To ensure heating plant and equipment is efficiently and effectively operated, make adjustments as necessary, and report defects and malfunctions to designated member of the Senior Leadership Team. To be responsible for maintaining the security of the premises and its contents including monitoring the school’s CCTV system.
To complete general light maintenance around a mid-size new build school, alongside porterage of deliveries. To ensure that all compliance is completed in a timely manner and reported on Parago and to the Business & Facilities Manager. This will include liaising and dealing with contractors on site when compliance checks are outsourced. To remove spillages and resultant stains from floors and other surfaces, and to ensure the school is kept to a high standard of cleanliness when the school is open. This role also involves being part of the security staff of the school, opening up in the morning, and working in the school holidays. Training of specific related areas in school will be given to the right candidate.
What we are looking for:
Suitable experience in a relevant discipline.
Extensive experience of working in a site security, maintenance environment.
* Knowledge of Health and Safety and compliance.
* Flexibility with working hours, this is a whole year position and work is carried out throughout school holiday time.
Good understanding and ability to use specialist equipment/resources.
