Caretaker job summary

We are looking to recruit a committed caretaker to join our school site team, working 37 hours a week, Monday to Friday all year round and working alongside our experienced site manager as part of a team. Hours to be discussed and agreed upon with the successful candidate but support is required with opening and closing of the school each day. Flexibility will be required to work outside of the Monday - Friday shift pattern as needed to support the lettings and ad-hoc schools events taking place during weekends. As part if the site team you will also be part of the on-call team for security and health and safety emergencies outside of the school hours.

Key responsibilities

  • Ensure the premises and grounds are safe, warm, clean and properly maintained.
  • Movement of heavy goods, duties including heavy items, taking delivery and distributing supplies, moving furniture and equipment.
  • Promote and protect safeguarding of all pupils, staff and visitors to site and premises.

Moulsecoomb Primary School is an Academy within the City of Brighton and Hove, located on The Highway, Lewes Road, minutes walk from Moulsecoomb train station and excellent bus links. The school is non-selective and non-denominational. We became part of The Pioneer Academy on 1st November 2021. As part of the trust, the whole school is currently receiving significant investment.
