What skills and experience we're looking for

Stickney Church of England School and New Leake School federation have the opportunity to appoint an enthusiastic and flexible caretaker, who is hardworking and energetic, and who has a good sense of humour and will be based across the federation.

The ideal candidate will be honest, reliable and hardworking,

Be expected to have strong practical skills and use their own initiative

A solid understanding of Health and safety, including an in-depth knowledge of COSHH.

Basic IT skills and literacy skills.

A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential.

Experience of working in the education sector is not required but welcomed

Knowledge of intruder alarms/CCTV and heating systems would be preferred.

Key Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Be responsible for the cleanliness of the schools and premises, including the ordering, storing and maintenance of cleaning supplies and equipment and disposal and collection of various waste.

• Ensure that buildings and sites are secure, including being a keyholder, routine and non-routine locking and unlocking of premises at both sites

• Keeping records and creating risk assessments ensuring compliance is maintained.

• Undertake general portage duties including moving furniture and equipment within school

• Undertake minor repairs (i.e. not requiring qualified craftsperson) and maintenance of the buildings and premises

• Operate systems such as heating, lighting and security (including CCTV and alarms)

• Receive deliveries to the school site and liaising with external contractors
