  • Salary: C4, £13.05 per hour (£25,185 FTE)

  • Term Time plus 4 weeks (42 wks/yr)

We are seeking a reliable, hardworking, and enthusiastic Caretaker to join our friendly team at West Walton School, helping to ensure a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for our pupils, staff, and visitors.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Opening and securing the school premises each day
  • Carrying out daily maintenance and minor repairs
  • Ensuring the school site is clean, safe and well-presented
  • Managing heating, lighting and security systems
  • Overseeing site safety checks and risk assessments
  • Monitoring contractors on-site and assisting with deliveries
  • Maintaining playgrounds, gardens and outdoor areas
  • Responding to any emergency maintenance issues

  • Has experience in a similar caretaking or facilities role 
  • Is practical, proactive, and takes pride in their work
  • Understands health and safety procedures
  • Can work independently and as part of a team
  • Is friendly, approachable and committed to supporting our school community
