We are seeking to recruit exam invigilators to work with our existing team, to facilitate the smooth running of the secondary public and internal examinations here at The Burgess Hill Academy.

The post would be ideally suited to applicants who feel a sense of responsibility for today's young people and who are able to work flexible daytime hours. This is a casual contract, so hours and days will vary dependent on need. However, availability between the hours of 8.00am and 4.00pm is required. Examinations take place throughout the academic year, starting in October and ending with the GCSE examinations in May and June.

The role involves:

  • Assisting with the set up of exam rooms
  • Patrolling exam rooms during exams and monitoring students behaviour
  • Collecting exam papers at the end of exams
  • Ensuring compliance with statutory policies related to the role

Experienceof working in a school or with young people would be an advantage, however, full training for the role will be provided. What we are looking for are applicants who can:

  • Understand and apply detailed written instructions, while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
  • Concentrate and work quickly under pressure
  • Maintain confidentially
  • Use initiative in response to unexpected situations
  • Be aware and committed to equal opportunities and diversity
