What skills and experience we're looking for
About us and the role
We are looking for two reliable and organised Casual Lettings Caretakers to join our team across the Bishop’s Stortford schools.
Reporting to the Head of Business Services, you will be responsible for holding keys, open and close sites safely, and oversee lettings to ensure our premises remain clean, secure and welcoming for all community users.
You will play a vital part in maintaining equipment, liaising with contractors, and delivering excellent customer service to clients using our facilities.
Flexibility is essential, as the role involves working evenings, weekends and during school holidays to meet the needs of our lettings arrangements
If you take pride in your work, enjoy solving problems independently, and want to help our community activities run smoothly, we’d love to hear from you.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-growing Multi Academy Trust with schools based in London, the midlands and the South West of England. All Avanti schools provide pupils with an outstanding education rooted in the inclusive and distinctive Avanti Schools ethos of educational excellence, character development, and spiritual insight.
What will you do?
- Hold keys to the school sites, ensuring facilities are opened and secured safely before and after community lettings bookings.
- Maintain, check and set up equipment, and ensure all areas are clean, tidy and presentable for community use.
- Provide excellent customer service by showing clients around, resolving queries or issues, and ensuring bookings run smoothly.
- Liaise with cleaning teams and contractors, carry out basic cleaning as needed, and ensure facilities meet expected standards after use.
- Follow all school policies and procedures, including health and safety, fire safety and First Aid provision during lettings.
What are we looking for?
- Experience working in a customer focused environment
- Effective communication skills both written and oral to both internal and external stakeholders
- A thorough practically based understanding of premises maintenance issues
- Promote and safeguard the welfare of children and young people
