Casual Sports and Lettings Assistant job summary
Established in 1632, Sir John Leman High School is steeped in history and has produced many generations of well-educated young people. The school has a strong emphasis on values and a relentless focus on improving learning, which is driving up performance in all aspects of our school.
We are recruiting a Sports and Lettings Assistant, to join us on a casual basis, to work as part of a small team providing sporting provisions to the public.
The Venue is a large Community Sports and Drama facility, which is held and managed by Sir John Leman High School. The facility is used by local clubs, organisations and other casual hirers for a range of different activities, from 4:30pm on weekdays and from 9:00am on weekends. The venue is proud to hold larger community events such as the ‘Cycle for Life’ and ‘Leman for Life’, as well as other one-off community events.
As well as hiring out our facilities we also run our own children’s activities, coaching courses, and fitness classes, which help to provide sporting and fitness opportunities to both adults and children.
In this role you will be required to:
Take bookings for casual hirers
Set up and take down equipment for the hirer
Ensure the room/facilities are clear and clean
Be a first point of contact for the public and offer excellent customer service
Keep the online booking system up to date on a daily basis
Plan and run sporting sessions for school holiday activities
Assist with sporting / fitness classes and courses run by The Venue
Open up and lock down the facility prior and after public use
Liaise with the centre manager to communicate duties
Communicate clearly with the Sports and Lettings team
Handle money and process daily takings documents
