Casual Theatre Technician job summary

The Sandpit Theatre is a 266-seat arts venue based on the campus of Sandringham School, St Albans. Since the opening in 2001, the venue has endeavoured to provide a cultural hub for the whole community of St. Albans and further districts, alongside its invaluable contribution to school life.

Over the last 25 years the venue has grown to become ‘The Heart of Sandringham School,’ boasting a full and varied programme of performances including the Whole School Show in November and Sandringham’s annual dance show ‘Velocity’ in February. These internal events are complemented by productions from local community groups, dance and performing arts schools and touring theatre companies. The SandPit Theatre is also a member of UK Theatre, a national group of theatres which also includes the Society of London Theatres which places us in the heart of the theatre industry.

We are looking to recruit casual Theatre Technicians to assist with running the technical aspects of the SandPit Theatre productions, maintenance and various site-specific pieces that happen around the school campus. Applicants need to be flexible and able to work evenings and weekends. This is an outstanding opportunity for someone who wants to join a high performing organisation and gain significant experience to further enhance their career. Please refer to the job description for more details.

  • have relevant technical expertise across theatre, dance, live music and events
  • have a passion for the performing arts and events, be enthusiastic and have a hands-on approach

  • have flexibility to work evenings and weekends

  • promote Sandringham’s ethos and values

If you feel that this could be the right next step in your career, we would love to hear from you.
