An exciting opportunity has become available for a Catering Assistant to join the catering team at Bartholomew School, Eynsham from 1st September 2026.
Contracted hours will be 10 hours per week, term time only plus 1 week cleaning duties. Hours will be 9:00am to 2:30pm on a Tuesday and a Friday, with an 8:00am start to 1:30pm finish during the examination season. Remuneration will be on the Local Government Pay Spine (LGPS) at Grade 3, Points 03; £24,796 (£12.89 per hour); Actual: £5753 pa.
Responsibilities will include:
Delivering a quality catering service in line with health, safety and hygiene requirements
Preparation of food for sale
Working on a team rotation that has 4 zones
Compliance with food safely hygiene and health & safety procedures
Required skills:
Ability to organise time and prioritise activities
Ability to work in, at times, a pressured environment
Flexibility and the ability to work as part of a team or as an individual
The successful applicant will also have good communication skills and be able and confident to interact with all members of the school community
Desirable knowledge & experience:
Previous experience in a food handling environment with knowledge of basic food safety. However, full training will be given.
A working knowledge of Health & safety procedures including the control of substances harmful to health (COSHH)
Level 2 food safety certificate. (Can be obtained as part of in-house training.)
Previous catering experience and safe use of knives & kitchen equipment would be beneficial
