Catering/Kitchen Assistant job summary

Ormiston Park Academy is a small (710) but growing and highly aspirational co-educational secondary school based in Aveley, Essex, for students aged 11-19. Our vision of ‘Believe and Achieve’ underpins all aspects of academy life in our impressive, well-resourced buildings and grounds.

We are looking to recruit a highly enthusiastic Catering Assistant who will assist in the daily preparation of food and beverage for the Academy for 22 hours per week during term time only (39 weeks per year). The post holder will be someone who maintains a high standard of personal and general cleanliness and hygiene to comply with statutory and school regulations.

The post holder will be responsible for:

  • Providing catering support on behalf of the Principal and Senior Leadership Team, delivering the day to day provision of catering services, ensuring a high level of hygiene and safety is maintained.
  • Undertaking the necessary preparation and service delivery, maintenance and procedures, following systems and policy to promote high standards of catering.
  • Supporting the catering service to run as well operationally as it possibly can with effective maintenance and cleanliness ensuring that communications and reports are made in a timely manner that meet the needs and expectations of all stakeholders including compliance with relevant OAT Head Office policies and processes as needed.
