We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and experienced Catering Lead to provide fresh, nutritious meals to pupils, staff and visitors and has a passion for improving healthy choices for vulnerable pupils.
Bure Park Specialist Academy is a residential special school for boys in the age range 7 – 16 with social, emotional and mental health difficulties (SEMH).
Pupils arrive with disrupted educational experiences and complex difficulties and our team will be responsible for ensuring that they leave with superb outcomes academically, socially and behaviourally.

The successful applicant will have a passion for food and healthy choices. They must be committed to delivering high quality nutritious meals to our school community and helping to educate our pupils about the importance of healthy eating through delicious and varied food experiences.
The post holder will need a background in catering; working in an education settings would be advantageous. A knowledge of School Food Standards is necessary. The Catering Lead will be responsible for ensuring a high level food service provision.
Applicants will need to have the skills to create a varied and appetising menu across the school day and through into the evening in our residential setting (the role is 37 hours and there is not an expectation to work into the evening). They will need to be able to cook food, support and direct other kitchen staff in the preparation of daily meals. The successful applicant will be able to carry out all duties as expected in a catering department; ordering food, to ensure high level of customer service during service, to ensure that high quality cleaning regimes are adhered to, and stock is always kept safe, stored appropriately, and rotated securely. The Catering Lead will act as a role model to members of the catering team always offering support to other staff.
We are looking for applicants with experience in a similar role, who are flexible to meet the needs of our pupils. You will need to have at least a Food Safety Level 2 and be able to use a computer, or be willing to undertake the training required.
