Westbourne Academy are looking for a Catering Manager who strives to share their passion for education with our students and join our dedicated team to uphold the Academy’s vision and values.
About you:-
We are looking for a professional individual who is self-motivated and has a passion for working with young people within a secondary Academy. You will relish the opportunity to work with young people in a vibrant and dynamic learning environment. The Catering Manager will be responsible to a member of the Senior Leadership team and Regional Catering Manager and, under the direction of the academy leadership team and Trust catering team, develop and manage the overall catering service within the academy.
The successful candidate will be highly organised and have relevant experience in a senior position within a large-scale catering establishment. Experience in supervision and management is essential and this role requires, an NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Catering and a Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate.

We try not to take ourselves too seriously but know that preparing young people for the adult world is an important undertaking. Since opening as an academy on 1 February 2013, attitudes, aspirations and expectations have been transformed. Currently we have around 1000+ students. Many of our students do not have the easiest backgrounds and we are determined to ensure that we remove as many barriers to learning as possible. Around 30% of our students come from a disadvantaged background. We are delighted that Ipswich has been deemed an opportunity area for the Department for Education and look forward to taking an active part in this initiative to tackle disadvantage.
