Central Finance Manager job summary

The Pioneer Academy are looking for a Central Finance Manager to join their finance team, working alongside a Central Business Manager, to support 3 schools (two based in Brighton and Hove, 1 based in Oxted, Surrey). Ideally, applicants will be experienced in finance within the education sector. Experience of PS Financials is also desirable.

This role is initially for 1 year on a fixed term contract. The working day will be 08.00 - 16.00, Monday to Friday. The role will involve working at assigned schools in Brighton and Hove and Surrey with an essential car allowance/travel costs paid. This will ideally be a full time role (52 weeks a year), but we will also consider term time only options for applicants who are seeking such a role.

Main Responsibilities (also see the attached job description):

  • Ensuring effective operation of the finance function of a small group of schools;
  • Assisting the School Business Manager with all aspects of the development of school finances, such as budget setting;
  • Ensuring the safe receipt and handling of cash and the reconciliation of transactions;
  • Co-ordinating and completing administrative routines relating to orders, invoices, cheques, income, payroll and the receipt and distribution of goods and services.
