What skills and experience we're looking for
The Hub School is looking to appoint a Chair of Governors to lead our school governing body.
The Governorswork in partnership with the Headteacher and the staff of the school, as well as providing advice and acting as a link between the school and the local community. If you would like to be a part of our dedicated team, and the wider community, to make a real difference in pupils lives, please do get in touch with us.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee board meetings and decision-making
- Ensure effective governance and accountability
- Support the headteacher and senior leadership team, being a ‘critical friend’
- Represent the school in the wider community
- Strong commitment to the school’s ethos and principles
- Strong desire to improve the educational outcomes for children with SEMH

As chair you will lead, inspire, and guide our panel of governors to provide support and expertise in education for students with social, emotional and mental health needs. Our aim is to improve the life chances of young people for whom mainstream education has not so far been successful. We provide our students with an alternative educational experience that offers them a nurturing, safe and supportive environment.
