Chief Executive Officer (CEO) - Scalby Learning Trust job summary

0.4 with some flexibility in hours required - Competitive salary and relocation package available for the right candidate.

Come and lead our educational journey across and beyond the North Yorkshire Coast.

Scalby Learning Trust is a growing family of schools based on the North Yorkshire Coast. We are poised to grow in the immediate future and our ambition is to welcome new schools into our Trust where we can add capacity, resources, improvement and make sure all our young people have access to the very best education.

As a Trust we have welcomed our first sponsored primary, and added to our central team which includes our Finance Director, Finance Manager and school improvement colleagues working within our lead schools.

Our Trust is currently based at Scalby School in Scarborough with both our founding secondary and primary schools being judged ‘good’ by Ofsted. Our success in making sure that our staff are our greatest resource, with ongoing investment into our teaching and support staff teams has placed us in a good position to meet current educational challenges.

Our Opportunity
Due to the well-deserved retirement of our founding CEO (and former Headteacher of Scalby School) Trustees are looking to appoint a colleague with the vision, ambition, educational knowledge and values to build on and further develop and lead our Trust.
You will be supported and challenged by a moral purpose driven group of Trustees with educational and local knowledge, as well as working closely with a group of Headteachers and Trust colleagues who will look to you for inspired leadership.
Scalby Learning Trust may be currently small in its number of partner schools but we have ambition to grow with the support of the RSC and DFE. In addition we have our own Teaching School (based at Scalby School) and are one of the first 11 schools nationally to deliver the new Chartered College of Teaching Chartered Teacher Programme.
As part of the North Yorkshire Coast Opportunity Area you will join a group of schools within an area where tangible impact and investment into sustainable projects are making a difference within social mobility.

What we are looking for in a new CEO:

• A dynamic and principled leader who puts youngsters at the heart of everything they work for.
• A warm, approachable person who relates well to all stakeholders.
• An excellent communicator, able to inspire, persuade and support others.
• A leader with a track record of school improvement.
• A leader who has significant experience of managing change.
• A strategic thinker who can work with others to develop new structures and systems across schools.

Lead our Trust and make a real difference to our children and your career in an area that offers so much!
