About the Role

As a Children and Families Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils’ learning, wellbeing, and school attendance, while also working closely with families to strengthen engagement and provide guidance. You will collaborate with school staff, safeguarding leads, and external agencies to ensure every child feels safe, supported, and ready to thrive.

Key Responsibilities
  • Children Support:

    • React to the needs of pupils daily, supporting learning and school attendance.
    • Lead and coordinate ELSA and Keyworker groups in collaboration with the SENDCo.
    • Support transitions into school and run social and intervention groups.
    • Provide assistance during unstructured times and maintain accurate records of pupil interactions.
    • Family Support:

      • Promote parental engagement and provide guidance on early concerns.
      • Complete referrals for support services and liaise with parents on attendance matters.
      • Communicate effectively with families via calls, emails, and meetings.
      • Attend parent evenings, multi-agency meetings, and support home visits when required.
      • Safeguarding:

        • Follow school safeguarding policies and report concerns promptly.
        • Support safeguarding leads in multi-agency meetings and monitor ongoing cases.
