Children and Family Support Worker job summary
Victoria Road Primary School are seeking a committed Children and Family Support Worker to join their team.
Role purpose:
To support the overall Raising Achievement Plan and school priorities by supporting children and parents to engage and thrive in an academic environment. To ensure that families are best able to support their children’s learning and that children are equipped with the tools to succeed in their education. To ensure that pupils are kept safe, and agencies are liaised with to ensure families remain safeguarded.
We are looking for Children and Family Support Worker who has:
A proven ability to work within established school procedures, policies and approved methods
Awareness of and compliance with, policies and procedures relating to child protection, health, safety and security, confidentiality and data protection
Interpersonal and communication skills to establish contact and build relationships with children, parents, carers and families, establish useful links with local groups,
agencies and organisations that work with families and provide advice or guidance to parents on parenting / child issues
An ability to pass on clear, concise and factual information without bias through emotional stresses or strains
IT literate and confident in word processing
Sound working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
Knowledge and experience of local and national safeguarding and child protection procedures
Numeracy/Literacy skills equivalent to GCSE in English and Mathematics - GCSE (Grade A-C)
Knowledge and/or relevant experience of:
The educational support needs of parents and families
School based ethos and culture for inclusion
