Your working hours

Monday to Friday, 12:00pm to 6:00pm (term‑time only)

The post is temporary until 31 August 2026, with the potential to continue beyond this date depending on funding.

What the role involves

You’ll split your time between helping in the classroom and running our after‑school wraparound care - creating a safe, fun, nurturing space for children to learn, play and relax.


Why a Level 3 qualification is essential

Because this role supports children from nursery age upwards, you will need a Level 3 childcare or education qualification (or equivalent).

Your day will include:

Supporting children with reading, writing, maths & creative tasks

Helping with small-group or 1:1 learning

Celebrating children’s successes and boosting confidence

Setting up fun activities like crafts, games & outdoor play

Creating a warm, welcoming after‑school environment

Preparing light snacks and supporting routines

Being a friendly, positive presence for families

Helping with simple admin and resources

Working closely with teachers and support staff

Following safeguarding, first aid & H&S procedures

You’ll also need:

Basic Maths & English qualifications

Some experience working with children (in any setting)
