Water Mill Primary School is a warm and friendly one form entry local authority primary school with a strong sense of community. We are situated on the borders of Selly Oak and Harborne, Birmingham. We are proud of the rich diversity of our community and the excellent relationships that exist between pupils, staff, Governors and parents.
We are seeking two enthusiastic, dedicated and highly skilled Class Teacher (Full Time and Part Time roles available) to join our team and contribute to our culture of high expectations, creativity, and genuine care for each learner.

As a Class Teacher at Water Mill Primary School, you will:
- Be responsible for the learning, progress and well-being of pupils in your class, ensuring equality of opportunity for all.
- Deliver engaging, well‑structured lessons that meet the needs of all learners, including those with SEND, EAL, and high prior attainment.
- Demonstrate strong knowledge of curriculum requirements, assessment strategies and statutory expectations.
- Create a safe, purposeful and stimulating classroom environment rooted in mutual respect.
- Use effective assessment to set challenging objectives, monitor progress and provide meaningful feedback.
- Build positive relationships with pupils, parents, colleagues and the wider community.
- Contribute to the wider life of the school and uphold our ethos, policies and high standards of conduct.
- Actively promote and safeguard the welfare of children and young people.
- Be responsible for the learning, progress and well-being of pupils in your class, ensuring equality of opportunity for all.

Essential
You will be:
- A qualified teacher with QTS.
- Experienced in teaching in KS1 and/or KS2..
- Knowledgeable about effective classroom organisation, teaching strategies, assessment, and statutory requirements.
- Committed to safeguarding, Prevent and inclusive practice.
- Able to communicate effectively with children, colleagues, parents and external agencies.
- Organised, enthusiastic, empathetic, approachable and able to create a positive learning environment.
We would also welcome:
- Experience across the full primary age range or with building community links.
- Evidence of continuous professional development.
- Experience working closely with parents or across multiple schools.
- A friendly and supportive staff team
- Strong leadership and opportunities for professional growth

Water Mill Primary School serves the communities of Selly Oak and Harborne.
