Class Teacher (1-Year Fixed Contract) job summary

We are looking for someone special to join us for at least a year at KA Gomer while one of our fabulous team members takes maternity leave.

King’s Academy Gomer is a vibrant, caring community where every child is empowered to flourish. Our SATs results in 2025 were well above national average and our attendance is in the top 10% of schools in the country. In our April Ofsted inspection, we were awarded two ‘outstanding’ judgements and two ‘good’ judgements. Inspectors noted:

“Pupils keenly attend school because they enjoy learning. Expectations for their achievement are high. Pupils’ behaviour is impeccable and their attitudes to their education are exemplary. There is a purposeful environment in classrooms.”

Our values, Honesty, Faith, and Courage are at the heart of all we do. We are ambitious for every pupil, ensuring they experience a school where creativity, ambition, and care go hand in hand.

We are looking for a Classroom Teacher on a one year fixed contract (to cover maternity but the contract could genuinely be extended) who will:

  • Bring energy and enthusiasm to inspire and engage pupils in their learning

  • Build positive, trusting relationships with children, colleagues, and families

  • Share our commitment to nurturing each child’s potential

What you’ll get from us:

  • A warm, collaborative team culture with ‘Team Gomer’ spirit

  • Enthusiastic children who are eager to learn and achieve

  • Strong support for your professional growth and development

  • The opportunity to make a meaningful impact within a school community

If you are a passionate educator looking to make a difference, we would love to hear from you. Visits to the school are welcome.
