What the school offers its staff
Booker Park School is part of the Vale Federation of Special Schools, alongside Stocklake Park School, which provides secondary and post-16 education. Currently, Booker Park supports 237 primary-aged pupils with a wide range of complex needs, including profound and multiple learning difficulties, as well as severe and moderate learning challenges. Nearly half of our students also have a diagnosis of autism spectrum condition. We are proud to offer exceptional facilities designed to enrich our pupils’ learning and development. These include:

Further information about the job
Reporting to the Head of School, the successful candidate will:
- Take responsibility for the education and welfare of a designated group of children
- Lead and manage additional adults within the classroom
- Collaborate with colleagues to plan and deliver tailored schemes of work that meet individual learning needs in this busy sometimes challenging but rewarding role
- Maintain assessment records and report on pupil progress in line with school policy
- Work closely cooperatively with on-site professionals including speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, and physiotherapists to support student development

- Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

- Be flexible and open to ongoing training

Booker Park School is a special school meeting the needs of primary age pupils with a range of complex needs. These may include moderate or severe learning difficulties, autism, physical and other sensory disabilities, and sometimes challenging behaviour as a consequence of these difficulties. We look for all our young people to be successful learners enabling them to achieve in a caring and supportive environment.
