About the Role
Chesterton Primary School is seeking a committed and enthusiastic Class Teacher to join our supportive and forward‑thinking team. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate practitioner who is dedicated to delivering high‑quality teaching and making a positive impact on pupils’ learning and wellbeing.
The successful candidate will fulfil the professional responsibilities of a teacher and meet the expectations set out in the Teachers’ Standards.
Key Responsibilities
Teaching and Learning
- Plan and deliver well‑structured, engaging lessons in line with the academy’s curriculum and schemes of work
- Assess, monitor and report on pupil progress, using assessment effectively to inform teaching
- Adapt teaching to meet the strengths and needs of all pupils
- Set high expectations that motivate, challenge and inspire learners
- Promote good progress and positive outcomes for all pupils
- Demonstrate strong subject and curriculum knowledge
- Support pupils in preparation for external assessments where appropriate
Whole‑Academy Contribution
- Contribute to the development and implementation of academy policies and procedures
- Make a positive contribution to the wider life, ethos and values of the academy
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to support curriculum development and pupil outcomes
- Provide cover in unforeseen circumstances when required
Health, Safety and Behaviour
- Promote the safety, wellbeing and safeguarding of all pupils
- Maintain high standards of behaviour to ensure a safe and positive learning environment

- Develop strong professional relationships with colleagues and external professionals
Professional Conduct
