    About the Role

    Chesterton Primary School is seeking a committed and enthusiastic Class Teacher to join our supportive and forward‑thinking team. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate practitioner who is dedicated to delivering high‑quality teaching and making a positive impact on pupils’ learning and wellbeing.

    The successful candidate will fulfil the professional responsibilities of a teacher and meet the expectations set out in the Teachers’ Standards.

    Key Responsibilities

    Teaching and Learning

    • Plan and deliver well‑structured, engaging lessons in line with the academy’s curriculum and schemes of work
    • Assess, monitor and report on pupil progress, using assessment effectively to inform teaching
    • Adapt teaching to meet the strengths and needs of all pupils
    • Set high expectations that motivate, challenge and inspire learners
    • Promote good progress and positive outcomes for all pupils
    • Demonstrate strong subject and curriculum knowledge
    • Support pupils in preparation for external assessments where appropriate

    Whole‑Academy Contribution

    • Contribute to the development and implementation of academy policies and procedures
    • Make a positive contribution to the wider life, ethos and values of the academy
    • Work collaboratively with colleagues to support curriculum development and pupil outcomes
    • Provide cover in unforeseen circumstances when required

    Health, Safety and Behaviour

    • Promote the safety, wellbeing and safeguarding of all pupils
    • Maintain high standards of behaviour to ensure a safe and positive learning environment
