What skills and experience we're looking for

Evidence of continual professional development that is relevant and appropriate to the post

Very good knowledge of pedagogy, and research, initiatives and technologies in learning and child development

Knowledge of the national curriculum with particular interest and expertise in at least one area

A good knowledge of emerging technology and the use of IT to enhance learning and engage pupils

Understanding of assessment for learning and its use to raise standards

Current knowledge of safeguarding legislation and government guidance relevant to the post

An understanding of the role of parents and the community in school improvement and how this can be promoted and developed

The University of Chichester Academy Trust’s brand-new academy will serve the evolving communities at the western edge of the Berewood development and will become an integral part of the wider local community.

We are looking for an experienced Class Teacher to join our team. The successful candidate will be a good or better, confident classroom practitioner with high expectations of children´s achievement and behaviour. They will be committed to improving standards for all children and have the skills to create a stimulating and purposeful learning environment, ensuring all children are achieving their best in all areas of learning. With a positive attitude and excellent interpersonal skills, they will have a commitment to work as part of a team and contribute to the wider aspects of school life being committed to working in partnership with parents / carers, governors and the local community.

We intend to make this academy “outstanding from the start” so that all pupils will enjoy a wide and rich curriculum, and benefit from well-designed, attractive surroundings that will enable really effective teaching.
