Class Teacher job summary

This is an exciting opportunity for a Primary Class Teacher to join Churchfield CE Primary Academy, guided by the mission “Children First; in the footsteps of St Chad.” Everything we do is rooted in placing children at the centre of decision-making and supporting them to grow academically, socially and emotionally within a caring and inclusive community.

As a class teacher, you will take responsibility for the learning, progress and wellbeing of your pupils, delivering high-quality, engaging lessons that inspire curiosity and aspiration. You will set high expectations for all learners and ensure teaching is inclusive and responsive to individual needs, so every child has the opportunity to succeed.

Strong relationships underpin effective learning at Churchfield. You will foster a calm, respectful and purposeful classroom environment built on trust and harmony, where pupils feel safe, valued and confident to participate fully in their learning. Working closely with teaching assistants, the SENDCo, and other professionals, you will demonstrate dedication to removing barriers to learning and supporting pupils’ academic, social and emotional development.

You will be part of a collaborative community of colleagues who value teamwork, professional dialogue and shared responsibility. Service to others is central to our ethos, whether that is supporting pupils and families or contributing positively to academy life. Colleagues are encouraged to play an active role in curriculum development and wider academy initiatives, helping to shape an environment where both pupils and adults can flourish.

Churchfield CE Primary Academy is committed to colleague wellbeing and sustainable working practices. We offer guaranteed PPA time, work within STPCD directed time limits, and promote a culture of professional respect and support. We welcome applications from teachers at all stages of their career who are child-centred, reflective and aligned with our values, regardless of faith background.

The Trust is committed to being a Flexible Employer and welcomes open discussion around flexible working options.

We encourage you to visit the academy, if you wish to please contact the academy - 01889 224520 or email admin@churchfield.staffs.sch.uk
