We are looking to appoint a full-time class teacher from September 2026. The year group and key stage is negotiable depending on the successful candidate's experiences to date. Woodcote Primary School is a fantastic school to start your teaching career, or to further develop it and move into middle leadership roles within the school or wider academy trust. We have a stable and happy staff team who work in large year group teams for planning and sharing workload. We have a proven track record of supporting ECTs within their induction years and beyond, with incredible training options. We welcome applications from those currently training, those looking to start their ECT journey already, and those ECTs who are already working in a school and looking for a new opportunity. Please note that, although this is a role listed to start in the new academic year, our INSET days are on 27th and 28th August and the successful candidate will be required to attend.

We are a 4 form entry school situated on the borders of Coulsdon and Purley. Woodcote Primary School is extremely well resourced, set in a wonderful green setting with educational facilities that offer unique learning opportunities. Woodcote classrooms are bright, attractive and well equipped with an excellent range of reading books, science and technology equipment, construction toys and mathematical apparatus. Woodcote teachers have high expectations of children’s learning. A balance of teaching styles is used across all year groups, including whole class, group and individual work. Teachers adapt work, based on every child’s ability, to ensure that every child has the opportunity to work to his or her personal best.

Our school motto is ‘Inspire, Challenge, Engage’ and is at the heart of everything we do. We value each child as an individual and work hard to foster resilience, creativity, responsibility, self-belief, respect and truthfulness. We pride ourselves on our continual drive to provide exceptional care and education. We have a dedicated and enthusiastic team striving for the best for all children. As well as encouraging intellectual growth, we work with families to develop the ‘whole child’ to ensure every child has the best possible opportunity to reach their ‘personal best’.

Visits to the school can be arranged via the school office on 0208 660 9972.
