St Thomas Catholic Voluntary Academy, part of the St Ralph Sherwin Catholic Multi-Academy Trust, are seeking a talented, committed and caring classroom practitioner to join the staff team from September 2022.

St Thomas Catholic Voluntary Academy is proud to continue a tradition of Catholic education that has formally existed from the 1860s for the children of Ilkeston and the surrounding areas.

We aim to create a caring Christian atmosphere based on our mission statement and the five Gospel values of Love, Respect, Honesty, Forgiveness and Friendship, and a love of Christ which teaches children respect for themselves and for others. We feel this atmosphere makes everyone aware that they should contribute towards the Christian ethos of our school.

Our school encourages everyone to grow in faith through prayer and worship and seeks to recognise that each individual is valued as being unique. We will provide a curriculum which will develop the full potential of every child. We strongly encourage the partnership between the school, home and parish and aim to foster a strong and purposeful relationship with the wider community.

You will be responsible for:

What are we looking for?

If you are an enthusiastic and knowledgeable teacher who is committed to getting the best outcomes for pupils then we want to hear from you. The successful candidate will be able to build effective working relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues and will adapt their teaching to meet the needs of all pupils.

The St Ralph Sherwin Catholic Multi-Academy Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. This post is subject to satisfactory references, which will be requested, prior to interview, an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, medical check, evidence of qualifications plus verification of the right to work in the UK.

Please note that the closing date may be brought forward depending upon interest.
