Class Teacher in a Specialist Provision job summary

Are you a passionate and dedicated teacher who believes every child can succeed regardless of their additional needs? Do you want to work in a welcoming and supportive school where staff wellbeing and professional development are valued? If so, we’d love to hear from you.

Brompton Hall School is seeking to appoint a passionate, creative and resilient Class Teacher to join our vibrant and committed team. This is a fantastic opportunity for either an ECT or an experienced teacher who is committed to supporting vulnerable young people and dedicated to helping them achieve their full potential.

This role would suit an individual who is adaptable, reflective and able to tailor their teaching strategies to meet a wide range of individual needs. You will draw on your professional knowledge, creativity and initiative to design and deliver personalised learning programmes, working collaboratively with colleagues, families and external partners to support positive outcomes for all pupils.

This role offers excellent variety, combining classroom teaching with wider enrichment and experimental learning opportunities beyond the traditional school environment. You will lead small group teaching, facilitate enrichment activities and support learners in a range of settings. A strong ability to build relationships, maintain high expectations and foster a supportive, structured environment is essential in helping pupils develop confidence, resilience and a renewed commitment to their education

About Us

Brompton Hall School is based within private grounds in the pretty village of Brompton-by-Sawdon and is a Special Education School for pupils aged between 8 and 16 years.

Our Multi Academy Trust is a group of inspirational and aspirational mainstream and specialist schools in North Yorkshire, Hull and South Yorkshire whose main objective is to ensure that all pupils make exceptional progress through the development of outstanding staff.

You can find out about recent activities via our Instagram page.

Our Pupils

We are a specialist school for pupils aged 8 to 16 with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs.

Our pupils join us from mainstream schools because they benefit from a setting that can provide additional behavioural support and a more personalised approach to helping them succeed.

We use a therapeutic approach to help support children and young people with their emotional and social development using practical strategies and techniques, built around online assessments that identify children’s emotional development and provides action plans for their individual needs.

Research has shown that how we behave is linked to how we feel, and our emotions are linked to how we learn. By teaching children to recognise and notice these feelings and emotions it can help with their development and learning.

At Brompton Hall, we believe every young person deserves a fresh start, a sense of belonging, and the chance to thrive. We are committed to helping each student rediscover their strengths, rebuild trust, and reimagine their future.

What We’re Looking For:
  • A passionate and creative classroom practitioner with high expectations for all pupils

  • A strong commitment to inclusive education and raising achievement for every child

  • Someone who can inspire and motivate pupils through engaging teaching and a nurturing approach

  • A reflective and proactive professional who works well as part of a team

  • A commitment to the wider life of the school and ongoing professional development

We Offer:
  • A supportive and caring staff team and leadership who value work-life balance

  • Fantastic pupils who deserve the best education

  • A strong culture of collaboration and continuous improvement

  • Opportunities for professional growth and career development

  • A commitment to staff well-being including annual employee survey where we really listen to staff!

  • Employee benefits such as access to the Teachers Pension Scheme, free parking, free flu vaccinations, access to 24/7 GP service for you and your family as well as other EAP support.
  • An opportunity to work with a dynamic team and to be part of our rapidly improving school.

Whether you’re at the start of your teaching journey or looking to take the next step in your career, we welcome your application. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a dedicated team of professionals who are committed to making a difference. If you feel you have the right qualities and would like to help take our school to the next level we would love to hear from you.
