Class Teacher (Intervention & Release Cover) job summary

You will provide high-quality cover to release teachers for targeted intervention work, while also contributing to and, where appropriate, leading intervention programmes that accelerate pupil progress.

We are looking for professionals who can step into any classroom, establish high expectations immediately, and deliver consistently strong teaching that builds on prior learning.

About the role

Teach across a range of year groups, ensuring continuity and high-quality learning

Provide reliable, purposeful cover that enables colleagues to deliver targeted interventions

Deliver and potentially lead small group or targeted intervention programmes

Contribute to improving outcomes for pupils, particularly those who need to catch up

Work closely with leaders to ensure consistency in expectations, routines and teaching approaches

What we are looking for

An experienced teacher with a strong track record of effective classroom practice.

Someone who can adapt quickly and confidently across different classes and year groups.

High expectations for all year groups, including those with SEND and those requiring additional support

Strong behaviour management and the ability to establish calm, purposeful classrooms quickly

A clear understanding of how to support pupils to close gaps and make accelerated progress

A team player who is committed to the school’s improvement journey

Due to the nature of this role and the need for immediate impact across the school, we are seeking an experienced teacher with a proven track record. This post is not suitable for Early Careers Teachers.

Additional Information

This is a fixed-term contract until 31st August 2027, linked to specific funding.

There may be the possibility of extension depending on future needs and funding.
