James Rennie School is a well-established special school in the Kingstown area of Carlisle, with an additional Sixth Form site at St Edmunds Park. We currently have up to 202 students on roll ranging from 3-19 within our well- equipped and modern facilities. We are a dynamic, caring school with a warm and friendly ethos and we expect all of our staff to use this ethos within their working practices. The ability to be proactive and flexible is necessary, and the ability/willingness to work with all ages throughout school is desirable.

Our students have complex learning needs and ideally, we would like staff to have SEND experience, however, for those applicants without this experience we do provide a LEAPS course and full mentoring to support your development of skills and experience in this area. We are looking for teachers who can inspire young people to achieve their very best and who will contribute to the vision and values of our school. This is a permanent contract with a possible September 2025 start.

If you come to work at our school, we will provide you with a fabulous opportunity to support a unique curriculum which focuses on what children need to learn and how they need to learn.

If you would like more information please email our Head of School, Kerry Dunbobbin on Kerry@jamesrennie.cumbria.sch.uk or visit our vacancy section of our website, (www.jamesrennie.cumbria.sch.uk).
