Class teacher job summary
About the role
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Class Teacher to join our thriving primary school. You'll have the opportunity to work with enthusiastic, well-behaved children in a nurturing community where we take a whole-child approach that values each individual child. Our older pupils are fantastic role models to our younger children, creating a supportive learning environment throughout the school. Our Ofsted report (April 2022) highlights that 'Pupils appreciate their teachers and they enjoy learning,' and commands both the positive attitudes of our pupils and our warm, friendly ethos."
Our teachers benefit from home working during their PPA time and due to us being a one form entry school there is collaborative working across all year groups and a supportive and welcoming atmosphere. All staff benefit from wellbeing support including a private GP service. We offer a supportive environment with a focus on meaningful professional development supporting all staff to develop and grow in their careers.
If you are an ECT you will be given additional time and support with the benefit of being guided by an experienced mentor. If as an ECT you are appointed your contract will begin in July.
Our grounds are extensive and a fantastic resource to enhance learning. Our youngest children access Forest School. We have a beautiful library and a music specialist who leads the children’s music lessons once a week. We also have a number of close links with other organisations in the community.
The Governors and staff of Kenilworth Primary School are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. References will be requested before the interview in line with safer recruitment practice. All shortlisted candidates will have a social media check. All shortlisted candidates will be asked to complete a self-declaration of their criminal record or information that would make them unsuitable to work with children. All appointments are subject to satisfactory enhanced DBS disclosure and other pre-employment checks.
We would strongly encourage any prospective candidates to visit our school. We would love to meet you and show you around. Please contact Katherine Sampson Headteacher, on 02089533459 or email Katie Seal at kseal@kenilworth.herts.sch.uk. for further details, an informal discussion and where possible to arrange a visit. The person specification forms a key part in our short-listing process so please ensure you have considered this when making your application.
