Class Teacher (KS2)
Leeming RAF CP School is looking to recruit an inspiring, compassionate and talented teacher to join our supportive and strong team. The post is permanent and likely to be based in upper key stage 2 initially.
We are seeking applicants who have experience and a proven track record of raising attainment across Key Stage 2, especially in Years 5 and 6. The successful candidate will be an excellent classroom practitioner who is also able to guide the emotional development and well-being of children through a nurturing and supportive approach - helping pupils, particularly our most vulnerable, to realise their full potential.
Leeming RAF School is based ‘behind the wire’ of the RAF Leeming base - a unique context - with 100% service pupils. There are currently 160 pupils on roll, and the school has significantly higher than average pupil mobility. This results in a fast paced, exciting and ever-changing working environment. Owing to the high level of Service Families here, we play a vital part in welcoming, developing, then supporting the transition of children into the next stage of their education.
We pride ourselves in ‘Inspiring Excellence’, not only in academic progress, but also in each child’s social, emotional and personal development. We believe in making a difference to the education and development of children through their time in our school, regardless of how long that may be.
Ideally, candidates will have significant experience across Key Stage 2. ECTs considering applying should only do so if they have undertaken a substantial placement in Year 5 or 6.

Encourage and nurture a love of learning in children
Be a collaborative team player eager to go the extra mile for the benefit of the pupils and school
Have high levels of resilience when dealing with complex pupils and challenging circumstances
Always give 100% and be committed to the children in their care
Be eager to develop their own practice and try new, creative approaches
