What skills and experience we're looking for

Do you have what it takes to lead literacy across the school? We want someone who candevelop a strategic vision for literacy and implement it effectively, by developing andimproving whole school practice.

Are you an excellent teacher with a passion for literacy and adetermination to removing barriers to learning? We are looking for our next Literacy Lead,someone who will excite and engage pupils in their learning and lay strong foundations forsuccess in the next stage of their journey.

We are looking to appoint an excellent Class Teacher and Literacy Lead with:

  • a proven track record in improving pupil literacy levels and confidence;
  • recent experience of working in a diverse school setting, delivering high quality adaptive teachingand supporting pupils where literacy is a barrier;
  • experience or knowledge of delivering effective intervention programmes which supportimprovements in pupil outcomes;
  • experience of delivering impactful whole school professional development to teachers and/orlearning support staff;
  • an understanding of how children learn and the complexities of this process;
  • the skills to work successfully as part of a team, establishing effective working relationships andflexible working practices;
  • experience of following direction and working in collaboration with colleagues, parents, pupils andthe school community;
  • is kind, positive and committed to the school’s inclusive ethos, can-do attitude;
  • is reliable, flexible and calm, able to work under pressure and manage change effectively.
