Class Teacher- Maternity Cover job summary

We are seeking an excellent class teacher from Jan 2026 who demonstrates: high expectations for all pupils, excellent classroom management skills and a personal growth mind set. The position is based in our Reception class so Early Years experience is essential. This post is for Maternity cover for 12 months

Shillington Lower School is values based school at the heart of a popular, large and welcoming village. The school caters for pupils from Reception to Year 4 currently. Shillington Lower also has a preschool catering for pupils aged 2-4. Shillington lower school is federated with Stondon lower school.

We are seeking an excellent class teacher from January 2026 who demonstrates: high expectations for all pupils, excellent classroom management skills and a personal growth mind set. .Subject leadership is expected for MPS teachers.

You should be someone who: is committed to personal learning and development; a confident, forward thinking teacher; someone who is aspirational for the achievement of all pupils; someone enthusiastic, energetic and an inclusive teacher and a team player ready and willing to work with the team to drive the school forward as we transition to primary.
