Class Teacher, Maternity Cover job summary
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, dedicated and talented teacher to join our vibrant primary school community. This is a full-time, maternity cover position until April 2027 and is an exciting opportunity for a passionate educator who is committed to nurturing children’s curiosity, confidence and love of learning.

- Plan and deliver engaging, creative lessons that meet the needs of all learners

- Assess and monitor pupil progress to ensure strong outcomes
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop and share effective teaching practices
We Are Looking For Someone Who:
- Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent qualification
- Has a degree-level qualification
- Demonstrates strong classroom management and excellent teaching practice
- Is committed to achieving the very best outcomes for all children
- Values inclusive education and equality of opportunity
- Brings creativity, initiative and enthusiasm to inspire and motivate pupils
- Builds positive relationships with children, parents/carers and colleagues
- Has excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Is committed to continuous professional development and professional growth
Our school is proud to host two integrated specialist provisions supporting a small number of children with Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Visual Impairment. These pupils are taught within mainstream classes with appropriate specialist support, reflecting our strong commitment to inclusive education.

Riverside Primary School:
We are a popular, mainstream community school, which is part of Rainham Mark Education Trust. The school had a good Ofsted Inspection in November 2019 with a further ungraded inspection in June 2025 where Ofsted stated, “Riverside Primary School has taken effective action to maintain the standards identified at the previous inspection”. In our 2019 inspection, we were recognised as being Outstanding in the areas of Behaviour and Attitudes and Personal Development. The key values held by our school community add to the success and inclusive nature of the school. These values are Curiosity, Happiness, Aspiration, Respect, Articulacy, Community, Teamwork, Equality and Resilience - ‘Character’.
