What skills and experience we're looking for

  • Qualified primary teacher - suitable graduate teaching qualifications.

  • Evidence of relevant training in primary education

  • Key Stage X teaching experience

  • Ability to offer extra-curricular activities

  • Recent relevant training

  • Subject leadership

  • Further research or study

  • Up to date knowledge of the National Curriculum.

  • Understanding of the target setting, monitoring and assessment process.

  • An understanding of successful strategies for improving standards.

  • An ability to make effective use of modern technologies to enhance teaching and learning.

  • Proven successful outcomes in relation to attainment and progress.

  • Knowledge of the statutory requirements concerning safeguarding, SEN and equal opportunities.

  • Knowledge of the CPA approach to teaching maths

  • Google Classroom experience

  • Insistence on high standards and expectations.

  • A creative and exciting learning environment, which supports learning and allows pupils to be independent and enquiring learners

  • Willingness to be observed, and share practice with colleagues

  • Strong planning and regular assessment of children’s achievements and learning checks carried out

  • Proven track record of excellent behaviour management

  • Confident to take risks and be innovative

  • Team work with learning support staff and parent helpers
