What skills and experience we're looking for

Are you ready to take the next step in your teaching career and make an extraordinary impact?

We are seeking a passionate, creative and dedicated Classroom Teacher to join our outstanding team at Norman Gate School – a vibrant and inclusive SEND primary and nursery provision where no two days are the same and every success is celebrated.

At Norman Gate, we educate and nurture children with a wide range of learning needs, including moderate to severe learning difficulties, autism and ADHD. Working with class sizes of up to 12 and as part of a skilled and supportive class team, you will have the time and resources to truly personalise learning – helping every child to shine.

Our core values: Teamwork, Positivity, Respect, Independence, Curiosity and Courage, underpin everything we do. We are looking for an inspirational teacher who not only shares these values, but lives them, bringing energy, imagination and warmth to the classroom every day.

We are looking for someone who can:

  • Deliver exciting, high-quality classroom practice

  • Adapt their teaching to meet the diverse needs of learners

  • Communicate confidently and build strong relationships with pupils, families and colleagues

  • Motivate, challenge and inspire every child to reach their potential

  • Show resilience, great organisation and a reflective approach to self-improvement

Initially the role would be a cover-teacher role, working alongside our brilliant, experienced teachers.

We would love to hear from teachers with experience in special education, but we also warmly welcome applications from mainstream teachers who are excited by the challenge and joy of working with pupils with SEND.

If you’re ready to help our brilliant children grow in confidence, curiosity and independence – and want to be part of something truly special – we’d be delighted to receive your application.
