The Governors of Church St Nicholas’ Church of England Primary School wish to appoint an enthusiastic, hardworking and dedicated teacher to join our happy and successful school for a full-time permanent teaching post. The successful candidate will be joining a school that is committed to providing the very best Christian education for all its pupils.

St Nicholas Church of England Primary School is an average sized primary school in
Lancashire. The area served by the school suffers from identifiable levels of social and
economic deprivation, with around 85% of pupils coming from the most disadvantaged
backgrounds as measured by the English 'Indices of Deprivation'. The proportion of pupils
eligible for extra funding via the Pupil Premium grant (PPG) has fluctuated over time, yet
remains around double the Lancashire averages. In recent years, mobility has increased
to levels above those seen nationally. The proportion of pupils who have identified special
educational needs and/or disabilities remains above
national average.
Pupil attendance has remained a focus for the school. The school is proactive in its approach to this aspect of work with parents. The school continues to work on punctuality. Attendance of pupils who are eligible for Pupil Premium Grant (PPG) funding has improved notably.
Behaviour in school has developed and is now a notable strength, with pupils generally
demonstrating exemplary attitudes to learning. The school provides strong support for
pupils who have challenging behaviours and engages well with a wide range of services.
