As a Church of England Primary School, St Mary’s Bluecoat School is an inclusive school with a strong reputation for successfully meeting the needs of pupils with additional needs.

There is a palpable team spirit and ‘can do’ attitude among staff within the school as we strive to achieve the very best outcomes for all children. The SEND hub on the school site embodies the inclusive ethos of the school.

Our Hub is a provision for children with a range of complex needs and a specific aim to support those children who present with a broad variety of Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (including Autistic Spectrum Conditions) identified as their primary need in their EHCP.

Children attending the hub receive specific teaching through a flexible, formal curriculum which is carefully designed to meet their needs whilst also accessing some learning with their mainstream peers (as appropriate) and participating in the inclusive school community at every possible opportunity.

We are looking for an experienced teacher to join our hub staff team at the beginning of the spring term (January 2026). With the support of a highly skilled team of teaching assistants, the hub class teacher will be responsible for teaching a small class of pupils in our provision. The provision caters for a maximum of 12, Key Stage 2 children and teaching groups are often smaller with the group working across two purpose built rooms.

We are looking for a highly skilled teacher with a proven track record of meeting the needs of children with special educational needs. The successful candidate will have experience of working with children with SEND in either a primary school setting or in a specialist provision.
