The Wickford Church of England School provides education for children from 4 to 7 years of age in the Wickford area in Essex. We aim to create a respectful, caring and secure place to learn where everyone will work happily together. As a distinctly Christian school, spirituality is at our heart and this growth is supported by the close links we have with the Wickford and Runwell Diocese.

We believe that individual children should attain the highest possible standards in reading, writing and mathematics. Children should be able to develop and apply these skills with confidence, and should enjoy the process. Each child will be encouraged to develop an overall sense of achievement during their time here. At all times we aim to match the learning experience to the needs of individual children in partnership with parents and other members of the community. Additionally, we promote the physical, creative, social and emotional development of each child in a nurturing and friendly atmosphere.

Our staff, along with supportive parents and LAB members, contribute to the success of our school. We work together as one community with a common purpose – to ensure that our children are happy and successful, developing a lifelong love of learning.

We are an outstanding rated school and were shortlisted for TES Primary School of the Year 2024. We are proud to have achieved The Leading Parent Partnership Award, Silver Artsmark Award, SEND Inclusion Award and Prem Aware Award.

The Trust is truly innovative and rewards outstanding staff for outstanding outcomes.
